Cuttlebug question

Hi All,

I have received a few questions as to if you can use the Sizzix dies that Stampin up sells with the Cuttlebug.

The answer is "YES" to all the dies and embossing folders and texturz plates, except for the Bigz XL dies. The Bigz XL dies are the banner, the box 2, the bag with Scallop, Movers and Shapes Curly Label, Basket & Blooms dies. These dies are on page 194 and the top of 195 in the catalog. The reason you can not use these 5 dies with the cuttlebug is because they require the extended cutting pads which are just a little wider then the standard cuttlebug plates.

All other Sizzix dies, (originals, Bigz, sizzlits, decorative strip dies, embosslits, and texturz plates and Textured Impressions Dies will work in the Cuttlebug. Of course with the Textured plates you will need the Texturz Silicone Rubber and Texturz Impressions pad. and with the decorative strips you will need the exteded spacer platform, and decorative strip cutting pads. But other then that nothing is needed.

There are lists on Splitcoast stampers that tells you the sandwiches for each type of die for the cuttlebug and the sizzix big shot.

Hope that helps!!

Manhattan Embossing Folder

I was playing with my Manhattan Embossing Folder and came up with this card. I love chocolate Chip and Really Rust together.
I used the unraised side of the embossing and ran my Versamarker over it to get the image. Here is a video on how I did it:

My Secret Sister has amazed me again

Look what I got in the mail yesterday. It is a dresser made out of paper! there are drawers on all 4 sides, and the drawers have the new large brads and new corduroy buttons!

Here is the beautiful card she sent with it. It uses the new Butterfly die and the new Oval stamp sets and scallop oval punch.

And guess what inside the drawers were goodies for me and my son! I got the new Jumbo Grommets from Stampin up, two matchboxes made using the new Sizzix Matchbox die. There were also pearls, brads and clock hands, acrylic shapes, eyelest, a cute sewing kit and things for my son!
Here is one of the matchboxs the other was filled with chocolates.

Here are my sons goodies, the stickers, markers and little stars.
She also sent me the Stamp set Songs of Spring! I am so blessed.

Easter class and more.

Hi All,

First of all I wanted to share with you the card my Secret Sister sent my son. Isn't it too cute. It uses the new Choo Choo set from the mini catalog. I love it!
I also wanted to share with you one of the cards we will be making at my Easter Card class next week. I already showed you the basket, and here is one of the cards. I won't be sharing the other card on my blog. But it is super cute and uses the Good Egg set. It is also a different kind of card. It doesn't open like a regular one, so I think my class will fall in love with it!

Before I go, I wanted to tell you that this card uses the new wheel from the mini, Egg hunt. And my new favorite punch the scallop oval. I was so glad that my sentiment from All Holidays fit into the large oval punch, so I could layer it with the scallop oval!

Whew, Busy Week

This week was so busy. I haven't had a chance to do a tutorial, but I do have some things to share! First up is a card I made today. I embossed the words and image then colored the image with markers. I love how it came out! I am thinking it would make a great Mother's day card.

This week we had a demonstrators meeting. I love going to these. We get to hang out with other Demo's, do swaps, share information, and this week we even got to do a class! The class was on how to make a scrapbook out of CD mailers! I am hoping to get a class on the schedule to share how to make these. One of the swaps I received was a little bunny basket. The Basket was run through the Big Shot with one of the Texturz plates. I don't have the plate that was used, it was the Sizzix Texturz plate 4, and the design looks just like weaving.

But I did want recreate the basket, so I used my Stampin up Sizzix Texturz plate. I love how it came out! The bunny on the front is not the same as the one my sideline made, but I found another basket with this cute bunny by Kandicejo on splitcoast. You can see her basket here: Bunny Basket

We will be making this little basket for my Easter Class on April 1st!

Enjoy!

Jazzy Challenge!

Hi All,

I just wanted to do a quick post to share the card I did for this weeks Jazzy Challenge. This week we were to use the colors: Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Gray and Whisper White. I must admint I have such a problem using Pacific Point. But when I laid out the colors together, I thought they would be great for a boys card. I am loving the Wild about you set so, this is what I came up with. To see the cards that the other team members came up with and to participate go to: http://creativecardsbycarrie.blogspot.com/

Lets talk about Chipboard!

Hi All,

This week is going to be crazy for me! My Stampin up group is having our meeting on Monday night, then I am doing a class Wednesday night, a vendor fair on Friday and another class on Sunday!
Whew so much to do, so little time. But with Sale-a-bration coming to an end every one wants to see Stampin up products!

So I am not complaining, I love sharing Stampin up with everyone!

Well on to today's tutorial.

I recently received my order of Stampin up on board - long boards. What are these right.. Well they are not in the catalogue but they are available for purchase, and they are sheets of chipboard that you can run through the Sizzix Big Shot to make your own Chipboard!
So I used it this weekend to make a cute box for my son. I had seen lots of people making these on Splitcoast stampers, and decided it was time I got in on the fun.

So here is my video.

Here is a close - up of the box I made for my son using the Top notes die and the Stars Die.

With the lid off.

And here is one of the cards we will be making in this weeks classes. The Class is for Children's cards. I have used both the Sizzix star die and the Stampin up Small Star Punch, and nested them together to make an accent.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Classy Brass

Happy Sunday!

I have seen soo many cards using the quilting technique with the Top nots die, that I wanted to try my own hand at it today. However, since this technique has been done by so many I didn't want to do it for my tutorial. Instead I highlighted the technique I used to highlight my sentiment. So Today's tutorial will be about using the class brass templates on your cards.

Here it is:

Here are the two cards featured in the tutorial. Hope you enjoy them. They each use the Sale-a-bration designer papers that I just love!

Jazzy Challenge 7!

Hi All,

for the Jazzy Challenge this week the color combination was Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise and Black! As soon as I heard the colors I knew I wanted to use my new Stamp set, Fifth Avenue Floral. It is a beautiful set and so easy to use.

Here is my card. The picture isn't the best so you can't really see that I used the Stampin up Texturz plate on the turquoise panel. This card took me only 5 minutes to make. It is so simple but elegant!

Now it is your turn, go to : http://www.jazzyinspirations.blogspot.com/ and try your hand at this week's challenge! Your card could become the next Jazzy Cat Card of the week.
