Scrapbook pages and tutorial

Hi All,

I wanted to share with you some scrap book pages I did during our Girls weekend away. I used the Best Yet Scrappin Kit. This first layout was for my son's 8th Birthday party pages.

And even though it shows a birthday theme in the catty, I was also able to use it to create Scrapbook pages for my son's first communion. Pretty much it is a great kit for any type of celebration!

I also wanted to remind you that you can still purchase the tutorial on how to make the Chalked Pumpkin card. I will be adding another tutorial on Sunday for the October orders. Be sure to check back then for pictures!

Remember, I will not be posting this tutorial on youtube, nor my website. However, if you would like to obtain the tutorial I am offering it as an on-line class for $5.00. You will not only learn how to do the chalking technique, but also how to make the sky background and the flat bow featured on this video. To purchase click on the Paypal button below.

Today's Tutorial is by Shelli Gardner!

Above is a picture of the hostess gift for the workshop I am doing today. I made her a set of 4 note cards using the Eastern Blooms set. Because of the time it took me to prep for the workshop I did not have time to do a tutorial myself. Instead I thought I would share a tutorial that Shelli Gardner did on "Good Things Utah", ABC Channel 4 in Utah.

Enjoy!

3x3 Treat Box

Happy Sunday all,

Sorry I am posting so late, but I am a bit under the weather. I am finally getting around to posting a tutorial on how to make the 3x3 Treat box swapped at convention. Below is the original box I had made.

For the tutorial I have updated the box to use the Say it with Scallops set from the new Fall and Winter Idea book, and I am using the new in colors, Kiwi Kiss and Tango Tangerine, along with the new designer paper Hawaiian Papaya.

You can check out the video here! I also have included the templates for both the 3x3 and a bonus 4x5.5 box below.

The yellow areas in the diagrams are the areas you will cut off. And the numbers across the top and on the right side are the paper dimensions. the other numbers are where you will score.

Enjoy!

Customer Thank You Cards

Hi All,

As many of you know I am a Hobby Demo. My outside orders come from close friends of mine who also enjoy scrapbooking and card making. In appreciation for their orders I always include a Thank You card in their orders. Well this month I decided to start something new.

Not only did they receive a card from me, but also a tutorial showing them how I made the card. I used a technique that was taught to us at our most recent Demo meeting. The technique uses the Stampin up Pastels, which I have had for 2 years, but up until now had rarely used.

You can see a picture of the thank you card below. I went with a fall theme.

I will not be posting this tutorial on youtube, nor my website. However, if you would like to obtain the tutorial I am offering it as an on-line class for $5.00. You will not only learn how to do the chalking technique, but also how to make the sky background and the flat bow featured on this video. To purchase click on the Paypal button below.

Either way they are the hotest thing around and they are only available until Halloween so order yours today! You can e-mail me at to place an order girl_stamper@yahoo.com , or order through my website www.mylifesart.stampinup.net.

Bleached Coloring

Hi All,

This weekend we had a girl's weekend away. I got a lot done but it wasn't very peaceful, not with 14 women staying in one house! But it was a blast. Below are the little treat baskets I made for everyone. I filled them with candy! I'll try to share some of my scrapbook pages I made, later in the week. Now to the tutorial.
To start with you are going to need bleach, and aqua painter and embossing supplies.
First I inked my image in Versamark and stamped it on to dark paper.
I then applied Black embossing power and embossed my image.

Next I filled my aqua painter with bleach that I had filled in a bowl.
Paint inside of the embossed image. You may have to apply several coats of bleach. You will see the areas to get colored will turn paler.

Now that the areas are paler, you can color them in with markers. I like to color with markers and then heat set them to dry.

The one with the purple paper is the finished bleached image.

Hope you enjoyed it. I HAVE to get to bed now!

Winner and Sept Calendar page and my Scrap room

Hello all,

First off, the winner of last weeks blog candy is: astrochell. Please e-mail me at girl_stamper@yahoo.com to claim your prize! Big Thanks for everyone who participated.

Last week, my brother and his wife were in town, so my Dad had all of his 4 children together under one roof! We had a chance to take pictures of all of us, plus the grand kids. It was a blast. I was looking through some old photos and found a picture of all 4 of us kids together 30 years ago! So I knew immediately that I wanted to use this picture on my calendar page for this month. I call it my 30 years later page.

The sentiment on the page is from the flight of the butterfly and says, "If nothing ever changed there would be no butterflies". How appropriate!

Notice I used my vest from 30 years ago as the inspiration for this page. The polka dot strip is from the Bella Rose paper, and I used the new Scallop edge punch to make the trim.
Here is a picture of all of us now with my Mom and Dad!

Ok, I wanted to share one more thing with you. This Monday is my Mother-in-laws birthday. And she is such a sweet person. I used the new Eastern Blooms stamp set for the images, I stamped them in craft ink and then embossed them with clear embossing powder. I also used my new long rectangle nestibilites on the focal image.

Lastly I wanted to share a video of my scrap room. Hope you enjoy it!

Last Day of Virtual House and Free Shipping Extended.

Hi All,

Because the Sizzix dies are not available for purchase until tomorrow, Sept 2nd. I am extending the Free Shipping thru Friday for any orders that have Sizzix dies on them.

And guess what today's tutorial is about? Sizzix Dies. I have two so far the Flower Layers and the Buttons, I am waiting for my Basket and Blooms and my Big Shot to come in. I already have the cuttlebug, but I want the Big Shot because then I can use it with the dies that are too big to fit in my Sizzix. These Dies are called Bigz XL's and Stampin Up has two exclusive ones. Check out the dies offered here: Sizzix Dies

Want to use your existing Die Cutting machine with Stampin Ups current Sizzix Die offering. Then check out this document: Die Cutting Machines

And lastly here is a list of all the types of materials that the Bigz, Bigz XL and Originals can cut: Die Cutting Materials However the rule of thumb is, anything that can be cut with regular scissors can be cut with these Dies.

The Sizzlits and Decorative Strips only cut paper.

Before the TWO videos for today, I would like to share some more Convention Swaps.

First up is a Sock Monkey card. The artist is Michelle Glennie, didn't she do a wonderful job with the kraft paper and white gel pen for the arms.

Next we have this romantic card from Shawn Nichols, I love the squares used. this is a very fast card to make using the square punches and decorative papers, but it has a big impact.
Next is a card from Kelly Schudi. since I have a son, I really love this card. so often we see girly cards, but this one is perfect for a young man.
The last swap is from Kristen Barie, and it uses the silver paper. Which she stamped on! I would have never thought to do this, but it really is super cute!

So now for today's videos. I wanted to show you a few things so I had to break up the video into two pieces.

Have a great Labor Day!
