Hello All,
Today we will be going over Watercoloring! I love to watercolor and I hope after seeing this tutorial you will learn to love it to. It is a technique that needs to practiced to perfect.

I will be using classic inks and markers to watercolor, but you can also use the watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons, reinkers or Craft ink to color.
I tend to use markers when I am traveling and want to color, because they are more compact. But at home I will use my ink pads.

To watercolor you must stamp your line image in stazon ink. This will ensure that your image does not run when water is applied.

In this case I squeezed my ink to get a pool of ink to use to color with my aqua painter. You can also use a water brush and water to color, or blender pens. I prefer the aqua painters when I am traveling or do not have a glass of water handy.
To use my markers to watercolor, I will scratch some of the marker's ink on a surface like the plastic sheets from my Stamp-a-ma-jig, or a CD, or on a plastic plate. This will leave a pool of ink that I can dip into with my aqua painter with.
Ok, now on to the actual coloring. I like to make sure that my aqua painter isn't too wet or dry, and then gather the ink and apply it to the image in a circular motion.
Here is my image after it is colored in.
You can shade image my using a darker color. In this example I used Whisper White paper, and colored my image with pumpkin pie, then I watercolored over the lines with my darker color...really rust.
The image on the left is on whisper White paper, the image on the right is with the Stampin up water color paper. I used the same exact colors on both, but notice the difference. I think the watercolor image is more smooth. This is because it absorbs the water differently.
Here is an image that I watercolored using my aqua painter, waited until the image dried and then went over the lines in the image with the fine part of my marker.
Here is colors up of my watercolor imaged where I went over the lines with my really rust marker's fine tip.
This is another example of my watercoloring the pumpkin but this time i used glossy paper. I think watercoloring on glossy allows the color to flow better when you are applying it.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
I'm taking next week off...I'll be with friends scrapping in Michigan. Enjoy!
